Privacy Policy

The short version: FamilyKeepsake collects nothing. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no advertising. Your photos are read by AI on your own device, and your keepsake files live on your devices and in your family's own iCloud - infrastructure that belongs to your Apple Account, not to us. We never see, receive, or hold any of your family's information.

This privacy policy applies to the FamilyKeepsake app (the "Application") for Apple devices. The Application is a keepsake catalogue for parents: it photographs children's creations and documents, reads them with on-device artificial intelligence, and files them in the user's own iCloud storage.

What information does the Application collect?

None. The Application has no sign-up, no account system, and no servers operated by us. We do not collect, receive, store or transmit any personal information, usage data, analytics, or content of any kind.

Where does my family's data live?

Everything you capture stays within your own Apple ecosystem:

On your device - the app's working data.
In your family's iCloud - keepsake photos, PDFs and voice recordings are stored as ordinary files in your own iCloud Drive, and a small metadata index syncs between your devices through iCloud (CloudKit), under your Apple Account. This storage is provided by Apple to you and is governed by Apple's privacy policy; we have no access to it.

How does the AI work?

The Application reads photos using Apple Intelligence, which runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad. Photos are not uploaded to us or to any third party for AI processing. Voice notes are transcribed on-device using Apple's speech frameworks. Capture and AI reading work without a network connection; iCloud sync and App Store purchases resume or complete when a connection is available.

What device permissions does it use?

The camera (to photograph keepsakes), the photo library (only when you choose to import), and the microphone (only when you record a voice note). Everything captured with these permissions stays on your device and in your iCloud as described above. The Application does not access location, contacts, or any other sensor or data.

Purchases

The Application offers a one-time purchase, processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. No purchase information is shared with us beyond the anonymous entitlement Apple provides to the app on your device.

Children

FamilyKeepsake is an app for parents. It catalogues things children make - artwork, certificates, school reports - as recorded by their parent or guardian. Children do not use accounts (there are none), are never contacted, and no information about any family member is ever transmitted to us. Information parents record about their children remains solely on the family's devices and in the family's own iCloud.

Deleting your data

Delete a keepsake in the app and its files are removed from your iCloud Drive and the synced index. Because your keepsakes are ordinary files in your own iCloud Drive, you can also manage them directly in the Files app at any time. Deleting the Application removes its data from your device; your keepsake files remain in your iCloud Drive - they belong to you.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because the Application collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare and cosmetic.
